Reading Week Exam Option: If you do not
wish to take the exam on the scheduled date/time, the Registrar will allow
you to check it out beforehand. You will have the same amount of time as
the scheduled exam date.
NOTE: If you wish to take the exam prior to the scheduled exam period,
you must do so prior to the scheduled date. No one will be permitted to
take the exam after the scheduled period.
FINAL EXAM WEEK (you are allowed to take the exam independently,
INCLUDING READING WEEK, up-to, but no later the time of the scheduled exam.)

- TIME - TBA (maximum time allowed 4 hours, test is designed to be
a 3 hour exam)
- This is an OPEN BOOK EXAM (you are allowed to refer to your text,
your statute, any materials handed out in class and any notes which you

- When determining whether or not material will be covered on the
exam please note the following three classifications:
- READ = Required reading, most of the material will be discussed
in class, may be covered on exam.
- SKIM = Optional reading for people who are not student experts
on that day. Portions of this material may be discussed in class with the
student expert, primarily as may relate to understanding a problem. You
will NOT be tested on information contained on these pages.

Immigration and Refugee Law and Policy (Third Edition - Legomsky)

STATUTORY SUPPLEMENT:
We will be using Immigration and Nationality Laws of the United States
(2004 edition - Aleinikoff, et. al.) [NOTE: You are not required to
purchase this book. But, it is more convenient than going online. All immigration
statutes/regulations/forms are available online: www.uscis.gov
HORNBOOK:
Immigration Law and Procedure - Weisbrodt (2005 - West) This
is not required. But, some students may find it useful.
E-MAIL:
All students are required to have an e-mail account which they check
after midnight on the day prior to each class.
ATTENDANCE & PARTICIPATION:
Regular attendance is recommended, but not required.
Participation: Each class will have two student 'experts' who will be
expected to have thoroughly reviewed the daily reading assignment (including
'skim/skip' materials as appropriate) for the day. Other class members
may be asked to volunteer their thoughts/opinions, in addition to the experts.
People may sign up by e-mail prior to, or during our second class, on
January 20, 2005. Any problems/days remaining unselected will be randomly
assigned by the professor.
If problems are included in the daily assignment, the two 'experts'
will be expected to explain and discuss the answers.
